Eifelpension Brückenschenke offers various facilities for cyclists. You can store your bicycle in our basement, which also has facilities for minor repairs and drying your clothes. We also have various brochures and cycling maps to help you plan your cycling trip. For a small fee, we can transport you and your bikes to the starting point of your cycling route or pick you, your bikes, and your luggage up from the nearest train station.
The Ahrtal Cycle Route:
The approximately 80 km long Ahr Valley Cycle Route through the breathtaking north of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate begins at the mouth of the Ahr near Sinzig, the town of the medieval German emperor Barbarossa, and runs through the heart of the red wine paradise of the Ahr Valley to Blankenheim, where the idiosyncratic tributary of the Rhine has its source. Both between Mayschoß-Laach and Altenahr (approx. 2.5 km) and between Schuld and Fuchshofen (approx. 4.5 km), you currently have to take the provincial road. The varied route connects interesting sights and natural monuments with exciting nature and health oases.
The wild and rugged nature of the Eifel alternates with the bizarre rock formations of the Ahr Valley and the spacious fields, meadows, and pastures. The varied route combines beautiful nature and sights with the region’s breathtaking river landscapes. Some of the routes run along well-developed cycle paths, others along well-paved farm and forest paths, all perfectly signposted and easy to follow.
